How to Cook Yellowfin Tuna in the Oven
Yellowfin tuna is a delicacy often enjoyed raw in sushi, but it is also excellent when cooked. Yellowfin tuna is a member of the mackerel family that is high in omega-3 fatty acids, which are good for your heart because they help lower levels of low-density lipoproteins, or LDLs, in your bloodstream. Baking yellowfin tuna allows it to retain its firm texture and delicate flavor, so it is best served without heavy sauces. A baked yellowfin tuna can be paired with any kind of greens.
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 2
Oil a baking dish lightly with olive oil and sprinkle it with the herbs of your choice. Yellowfin tuna can be seasoned with almost anything because its natural flavor is delicate and somewhat neutral.
Step 3
Run the yellowfin tuna steaks under cool water and blot them dry with paper towels.
Step 4
Place the yellowfin tuna steaks into the greased baking dish.
Step 5
Squeeze half of a lemon over the steaks' tops and then drizzle them with olive oil. Sprinkle with additional herbs and spices.
Step 6
Place the dish into the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the tuna is opaque all the way through and it flakes apart easily when you gently drag a fork across its top.
