How to Avoid Cellulite
Cellulite is a common non-medical term used to describe fat that pushes up against the connective tissues in the skin, causing the skin to have a bumpy appearance like cottage cheese. Cellulite mostly affects women. It can appear on the thighs, legs, arms and buttocks. Some causes of cellulite include the amount of body fat present, age, genetics and poor diet. Fortunately, you can avoid getting cellulite by trying some simple tips in your daily routine.

Maintain a healthy diet to avoid getting cellulite. Avoid eating foods that are high in sugar, cholesterol and saturated fats. These include all deep-fried foods, sugary pastries, sodas and candies. Make sure to eat two to three servings of leafy greens and fruits. Make them organic if possible. In addition, drink one to two liters of clean drinking water every day to help clear your body of cellulite-causing toxins. Cellulite toxins are dietary toxins from junk food, which can accumulate in the cells under your skin, causing fat and fluid retention.
Step 2
Brush your skin with a loofah sponge or skin brush when bathing or showering. Brushing your skin with a loofah sponge can prevent the formation of cellulite by stimulating your lymph and blood flow as well as eliminating dead surface skin cells. This in turn encourages the growth of new skin cells. Brush your skin gently and in a circular motion. Avoid scrubbing your skin to prevent irritation and reddening.
Step 3
Avoid intoxicating your body with things like alcoholic beverages, cigarettes and illegal drugs. These harmful toxins can slow down and/or damage your liver and kidneys, which in turn will slow your body's ability to eliminate waste products, which can cause cellulite formation.
Step 4
Get a full-body massage at least one or two times a week to avoid developing cellulite. Regular body massage is not only relaxing, it can also prevent fat deposits from dimpling your skin as well as lessen the appearance of existing cellulite. Consult a massage therapist if your financial budget allows, or simply rent or buy a book or video about self-body massage. Self-massage will give you the same effect as consulting a massage therapist and getting a massage.
Step 5
Exercise for at least one hour every day to burn fat and avoid the development of cellulite. Together with a healthy diet, exercises such as cycling, running, jogging and aerobics can help eliminate fat deposits all over your body.
Warning
You must consult your doctor before embarking on a new diet or exercise program.
