Calories & Carbohydrates in Mixed Drinks
When ordering a mixed drink at a bar or restaurant, it is good to know what the nutrition facts are for whatever you are ordering. Drinks have a variety of different alcohol and mixers, making for a wide range of calories and carbohydrates.

A rum and cola drink with a 1.5 oz jigger of 100-proof rum and 8 oz. will have 225 calories. The rum contains only 125 calories, so switching to a zero-calorie diet soda will reduce the overall calories in the drink. Rum is carbohydrate-free, as is diet cola, but regular cola can have up to 24 g of carbohydrates in an 8 oz. serving.
Vodka and Soda
A 1.5 oz jigger of 100-proof vodka has 125 calories, and club soda has zero calories. Vodka and club soda are also carbohydrate-free.
Long Island Iced Tea
Long island iced teas are a mixture of different types of liquor as well as a sour mix and cola. Not surprisingly, long island iced teas have 138 calories in a 5 oz serving, as well as 10 carbohydrates.
Screwdriver
A screwdriver, a drink made with vodka and orange juice, has 185 calories in a 5 oz drink. 125 of the calories come from vodka, and 60 of the calories come from the orange juice. Regardless of what type of orange juice you use, the drink will have about 12 g of carbohydrates.
Gin and Tonic
A gin and tonic drink has approximately 171 calories and 16 g of carbohydrates. About half of the calories come from each, and all of the carbohydrates come from the tonic water.
