How to Rinse Sinus Cavities With Apple Cider Vinegar and Water

The nasal cavity is an empty space behind the nose and the eyes. Air that passes through the cavity is heated or cooled before passing through the rest of the respiratory system. The air is also cleansed by tiny hairs acting as filters that are present in the sinus cavity. Infection of the nasal cavity occurs when germs or bacteria slip into the upper respiratory tract and inflammation ensues. In this case, a nasal treatment will have to be administered. When mixed with a little warm water, vinegar makes for a sinus cavity cleaner. Vinegar has anti-fungal, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

    Step 1

Add 2 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar to 1 cup of warm water. Mix this solution with a spoon.

    Step 2

Place 1 tbsp. of the mix into the palm of the hand and depress one nostril with a finger. Bring the hand with mixture to the open nostril and snort it up. Try to do this in one go.

    Step 3

Tilt the head back and let the solution run down the back of the nose and down the back of the throat. This can be spit out or swallowed. Repeat this process with the opposite nostril.
