How to Reset a ProForm Treadmill Console
Your ProForm treadmill tracks your incline, time and miles per hour. If your ProForm console fails to register information, you cannot accurately measure your progress. Making a few minor adjustments to a small magnet on the ProForm front roller pulley could help reset your ProForm console.

Press the incline up arrow on the console until the ProForm treadmill incline is increased to 5 percent.
Step 2
Remove the safety key from the bottom center of the ProForm treadmill console. The treadmill cannot run without the safety key inserted into the console. Unplug the power supply cord from the wall receptacle.
Step 3
Raise the treadmill uprights by removing the two screws from beneath the left and right extension legs that stabilize the motor on the frame. The extension legs support the treadmill on inclines and when raised for storage. Lift the uprights from the frame.
Step 4
Remove the three motor hood screws from the front of the hood and tilt the motor hood toward the walking belt to remove it.
Step 5
Turn the pulley to the left of the walking belt roller until the magnet located on the left side of the pulley lines up with the reed switch. The reed switch has a wire connected to it that runs back to the console.
Step 6
Adjust the reed switch until the distance between the magnet and the switch measures 1/8 inch. Loosen the screw holding the reed switch in place and adjust the distance if necessary. Retighten the reed switch screw.
Step 7
Replace the motor hood and the screws that stabilize the motor housing between the uprights. Lower the uprights and plug the power supply cord into the wall receptacle.
Step 8
Insert the safety key into the console and turn the ProForm treadmill on. Run the belt for three to four minutes to confirm the console was reset and you have a correct speed reading.
